Meet-the-Capt-slider

Born to three generations of Florida fishermen, John has spent his life’s time on local waters.

With over four decades of boating and fishing experience, he has earned his place as a respected angler and waterman in the community.  Having a passion for time on the water, combined with his experience, make for successful and unforgettable trips for his clients.

Even when traveling, his tackle is not left behind. Capt. Vann has fished Florida’s entire Gulf coast. From the home waters of Bay County, to the mangrove covered banks of Tampa Bay for snook, all the way down to the Florida Keys for Islamorada tarpon. Fly fishing the Rocky Mountains is also a passion of John’s. Especially, the fabled waters of the Madison and Gallatin Rivers in Big Sky Country of Montana for wild trout.

Constantly learning from every outing and lending an ear to advice along the way, has made him well versed in all disciplines of angling.

“I am very fortunate to live in a fisherman’s paradise. I‘m even more fortunate to get to take advantage of it. There is simply nothing else I had rather do. Planning the next trip is still just as exciting as the first.” Capt. John Vann
